Background

Josuke Higashikata was born out of an affair between real estate magnate Joseph Joestar and Tomoko Higashikata, who was a college student at the time and grew up without his father, with his grandfather Ryohei acting as a father figure instead. When Josuke was four, DIO, an old enemy of the Joestar bloodline, returned and developed a Stand, as a result, Josuke started to develop one himself and would later name it 'Crazy Diamond', but because he lacked the fighting spirit to use it he grew extremely ill. Tomoko rushed Josuke to the hospital in a panic, only for her car to get stuck in the snow. Just as the situation got dire a high school student with a pompadour appeared and threw his coat under Tomoko's car so it could plough through the snow. Though he never could track the teen down or even catch a glimpse of his face, Josuke grew to idolize his saviour, even copying his hairstyle in his honour.


On an April afternoon in the year 1999, Josuke, now a teen, was confronted by Jotaro Kujo, who revealed that he was his nephew, explained the concept of Stands to him, and informed him that he would inherit some of the ageing Joseph's money upon his death. Before leaving, Jotaro warned Josuke that Angelo, a serial killer Ryohei had caught decades before, had broken out of prison and developed a Stand of his own. Josuke would tragically lose his grandfather to the killer, but not after trapping him inside a rock as punishment for his crimes. The loss affected Josuke deeply and made him determined to protect Morioh in his grandfather's stead. During the summer of 1999, Josuke would battle and befriend many of the town's Stand users, even defeating another Stand using serial killer by the name of Yoshikage Kira.


After graduating high school, Josuke attended the police academy of his prefecture and became an officer to honor his grandfather's legacy. Still, he never lost his love for fashion and worked as a freelance model on the side.

Powers

Having fully completed his police training, Josuke has learned how to make use of grapple holds and has become a decent marksman. When on duty, Josuke wields pepper spray, a baton, and a New Nambu M60 revolver.

Josuke is a Stand user, someone who can project their willpower into a unique spirit-like being referred to as a Stand. His Stand is called Crazy Diamond.

Crazy Diamond takes the appearance of a humanoid being about the same height as Josuke. It is clad in tall headgear, part of a mask; and armour-like plates on many large surfaces of its body. Cables join the back of its head to its upper back. It bears a heart motif between the top of its head, its chin, shoulders, celiac plexus, belt, and knees; with pairs of short spikes protruding from its shoulders and ankles. Its most common colour scheme consists of a bubblegum pink interior and silver armour.

Crazy Diamond possesses immense physical strength matching that of Jotaro's Star Platinum, having been able to easily punch through the abdomens of two people at once, as well as stone and metal. It also posses superhuman speed with Josuke estimating it to be around 300 km/h. It was also able to catch a bullet fired close to its user.

Its unique ability is to restore or revert objects or organisms to a previous state in their history through touch. It can repair damage, heal injury, revert chemical changes and complex structures to their raw components (e.g. a table into its constituent timber). It may also fuse objects, such as a person with a rock. When restoring a divided object, Josuke can control which part acts as the starting points for the rest to gather towards. Feats of this nature include trapping an enemy by restoring pieces of a broken crate around him; exposing a Stand formerly bound to an object; and tracking by restoring a severed hand, forcing it to seek out and reattach itself to the body from which it was cut off. If this ability is used while Josuke is in a foul mood, its target may become warped as a result of improper restoration or be fused with a nearby object. Crazy Diamond cannot heal Josuke, cure illnesses, or restore life to an organism.
